GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University Women's Soccer returns to Gunnison for two matches this weekend. The Mountaineers host Black Hills State University at 3 p.m. on Friday and Regis University at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Sunday's match against Regis (3-3-2, 2-2 RMAC) is Youth Soccer Appreciation Day. All kids dressed in their youth soccer jersey will get on the field and receive a gift from the Mountaineers.

Western (1-7, 1-3 RMAC) enters the weekend having fallen to the 11
th-ranked Metro State University Denver Roadrunners last Sunday. At home this season, the Mountaineers are 1-1.

With three conference points, Western is tied for seventh place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Megan Wheelock leads the Mountaineers with three points this season. Wheelock has scored one goal and assisted another, adding 10 shots in eight matches played.

BHSU (0-9-1, 0-4 RMAC) enters the weekend looking for the first win of the season. The Mountaineers are 2-0 against the Yellow Jackets all-time.

Mikayla Hernandez leads the BHSU scoring attack. Hernandez has scored three goals and added one assist in nine matches.

On Sunday, Western will be looking for the first win in program history against Regis. The Mountaineers are winless against the Rangers in six previous matches.

Regis is coming off a 3-2 loss at home to Westminster College last Sunday. Regis will face Colorado Mesa University on Friday before heading to Gunnison for Sunday's match.

The Rangers sit sixth in the RMAC standings with six conference points.

Leading Regis' offensive attack is Cat Devitt with three goals scored in eight matches.
