WSOC | No. 11 Roadrunners outpace Mountaineers

DENVER, Colo. – The 11th-ranked Roadrunners of Metropolitan State University Denver were held scoreless by the Western Colorado University Mountaineers for nearly 52 minutes on Sunday. However, the Roadrunners were able to find the back of the net three times, defeating Western 3-0.
 
Western (1-7, 1-3 RMAC) thwarted-off 12 first half shots by MSUD (6-1-1, 4-0 RMAC). Goalkeeper Emilie Eckhart saved 11 shots against the Roadrunners, which ranks tied for seventh most in program history.
 
Following a 0-0 score at halftime, MSUD broke the tie in the 52nd minute. The Roadrunners followed with another goal in the 66th minute and ended the match with a third in the 75th.
 
The Mountaineers will return home next Friday for a match against Black Hills State University and another on Sunday against Regis University.
