GUNNISON, Colo. – The 2018-19 wrestling season continues Thursday night for Western Colorado University. The ninth-ranked Mountaineers travel to Golden, Colorado to face Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponent Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m. in Russel Volk Gymnasium.

Western (6-1, 1-0 RMAC) enters Thursday's dual having won six of their first seven duals, with half of those wins coming against top-25 ranked opponents. The Mountaineers' only loss of the dual season came against top-ranked St. Cloud State University.

Brandon Supernaw, Western's 174-pound wrestler, was just named the RMAC Wrestler of the Week for his performances in five duals last week. Supernaw went 5-0 with two falls and three decisions, including a 9-4 decision against St. Cloud State's Kolton Eischens, who is ranked third in the nation.

Supernaw is currently the top-ranked wrestler at 174 pounds. And has a 7-0 record this season with three wins coming by fall.

Also ranked in the top-12 of their weight class is
Konnor Schmidt at 197 pounds. Schmidt is ranked second and has a 6-1 record with five falls. The only loss this season for Schmidt came against SCSU's Vince Dietz, who is ranked first at 197 pounds.

The Orediggers have yet to lose a dual this season with a perfect 4-0 record. CSM is 2-0 against RMAC opponents, having defeated 13
th-ranked Chadron State College 24-11 and San Francisco State University 32-6.

The lone ranked Oredigger is Noah Au-Yeung at 133 pounds. Au-Yeung is ranked seventh and has a 6-4 record this season.

Thursday night's dual will take place in Volk Gymnasium on Mines' campus.
