GUNNISON, Colo. – Wednesday night is Pink Night as Western Colorado University Wrestling hosts Colorado Mesa University at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the Mountaineers and raise awareness of breast cancer.

The Mountaineers will have a silent auction for official Pink Night warmups. All proceeds will go the local Gunnison chapter of Tough Enough to Wear Pink.

The ninth-ranked Mountaineers enter the mid-week dual with a 2-0 dual record. Western defeated Cloud County Community College and the second-ranked Nebraska – Kearney Lopers in Paul Wright Gym earlier this month.

Wednesday will be the first of two head-to-head duals between Western and CMU this season. The Mountaineers hold a 29-25-1 lead in the all-time series and won last season's two duals.

The Mavericks are also 2-0, having defeated both Cloud County and Nebraska-Kearney earlier in the month.

CMU has two wrestlers ranked in the top-12 of their respective weight classes. Payton Tawater is ranked 11th at 157 pounds and Jason Buhr is 12
th at 165 pounds.

Western currently has three ranked wrestlers.
Brandon Supernaw is top of the 174-pound weight class, while
Konnor Schmidt is second at 197 pounds and
Brendan Gonzales is 11
th at 184 pounds.

Following Wednesday's dual, the Mountaineers will venture to Newberry, South Carolina for the Newberry Duals on Sunday. Wrestling on the east coast gets started at 6 a.m. (MST) against Coker College. The Mountaineers will then face 10
th-ranked Newberry College at 7:30 a.m. (MST) and Limestone College at 9 a.m. (MST).

Western's final dual of the day will come against top-ranked St. Cloud State University at 10:30 a.m. (MST).
