Jessica Kresl found teammate
Paige Massey near the middle of the 18-yard box. Massey spun to the right and slotted a shot past the keeper, tying the match at 1-1 in the 80
th minute.
Â
With the score tied after 90 minutes, the two teams headed into overtime. Western picked up where they left off in the second half and dominated the first overtime.
Â
The Mountaineers continued to put AAU into dangerous situations, and Massey nearly scored her second goal of the match and the game-winner as her shot from 25-yards out on the left side floated over the keeper and hit the crossbar.
Â
In the second overtime, Western goalie
Katie Simpson-Johnson made two great saves to keep the Mountaineers' hopes alive. However, Western was unable to convert their opportunities into goals.
Â
