GUNNISON, Colo. – The dual season gets underway Wednesday night for Western State Colorado University in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The Mountaineers will meet Colorado Mesa University in Brownson Arena at 6 p.m. on the campus of CMU. The dual was originally scheduled to take place on the Mavericks' baseball field, Suplizio Field, at 6 p.m. for the Dual in the Diamond. Due to weather, the dual will take place inside.
This will be the first dual for both Western and CMU. For most of the wrestlers competing, it will be the first time officially on the mat for the 2017-18 season.
Western is currently receiving votes in the NWCA Division II Coaches' Poll, while the Mavericks are tied for 21
st.
Brandon Supernaw and
Konnor Schmidt of Western are both ranked nationally. Supernaw is the seventh ranked 174-pounder, while Schmidt is ranked eighth at 184 pounds.
