GUNNISON, Colo. – One match this weekend for Western State Colorado University women's soccer. The Mountaineers travel to UC-Colorado Springs this Sunday. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. from Mountain Lion Stadium.
 
Western (4-4-1, 3-2 RMAC) enters the match after losing to Fort Lewis College on the road, 1-2. Sunday's match against the Skyhawks was the first true away match for Western this season.
 
Ingrid Alvarez, Paige Massey and Jessica Kresl have been the driving force for the Western offense this season. Alvarez and Massey are tied for the team lead in points with seven. Alvarez has two goals and a team-high three assists, while Massey has a team-high three goals and one assist.
 
Kresl and Massey both been accumulating shots throughout the season. Kresl is second in the conference for total shots with 28, while Massey is tied for third with 27.
 
The Mountaineers have nine points in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which ties them for sixth place in the conference standings.
 
Sunday will be the ninth meeting between Western and UCCS (6-3, 4-1 RMAC). The Mountain Lions have a 6-2 lead in the series. The Mountaineers are 2-2 on the road in Colorado Springs, Colorado against UCCS.
 
The Mountain Lions are tied for third in the RMAC standings with 12 points and have won their last two matches.
 
As a team, UCCS leads the conference in goals scored with 21. Five Mountain Lions have recorded three goals.
 
Hanna Parado leads the Mountain Lions in total points with eight. Parado has scored three goals and added two assists in nine matches played.
