PUEBLO, Colo. – The Western State Colorado University women's basketball team ended the 2015-16 season Friday night. The Mountaineers fell to Colorado State University – Pueblo on the road 78-40.
Western (4-20, 2-20 RMAC) got out to an early 7-0 lead against CSU-Pueblo (23-5, 18-5 RMAC) on Friday. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, CSU-Pueblo scored the next 18 points to take an 18-7 lead through the first quarter.
The ThunderWolves were able to take control of the game after the first quarter and defeated the Mountaineers 78-40.
Taylor Long (So., Moreno Valley, California) led Western in scoring with 10 points. Teammate
Sadie Stroup (Jr., Foresthill, California) added eight more points, making 2-of-5 three-point field goals.
Molly Rohrer and Angie Moore of CSU-Pueblo led all players in scoring with 14 points.
The Mountaineers ended the season sixth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Rocky Division.
