GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's soccer continues the homestand this Friday and Sunday. The Mountaineers host Colorado Christian University at 3 p.m. on Friday and No. 3 Colorado School of Mines at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both matches will be played on Gateway Field.

Six matches remain in the regular season for Western (4-6-1, 2-4 RMAC). Four of the final six matches will be played in Gunnison.

The Mountaineers currently sit tied for 10
th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with six points. The top six teams will make the conference tournament. The current six place team has 12 points heading into the weekend.

Jessica Kresl leads the Mountaineers' attack with a team leading three goals this season. Her 3.63 shots per game average is tied for the second most in the RMAC.

Friday's opponent, CCU (5-6-1, 2-4-1 RMAC), sits one point ahead of Western in the conference standings with seven in ninth place.

The Cougars have four players leading the team with three goals this season. Kielli Jordan leads the teams in points with seven.

CSM (11-1, 6-1 RMAC) come to Gunnison ranked No. 3 this week in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. The Orediggers' lone loss this season came against CSU-Pueblo on Oct. 2.

The CSM back line has been a stalwart all season long. Of the Orediggers' 11 wins, 10 have been by way of shutout.
