GREELEY, Colo. - In their second exhibition game of the season, Western State Colorado University women's basketball faced Division I opponent Northern Colorado on Monday night. The Mountaineers were unable to upset the Bears on the road and fell 101-48.

Western's Sydnie Lengyel (Jr., Tempe, Arizona) led the way for the Mountaineers, scoring 13 points. Lengyel was 5-of-11 (.455) from the field, making 3-of-4 free throws.

The Mountaineers made five blocks against UNC (2-0, 0-0 Big Sky), compared to the Bears' two. 

Western's Sadie Stroup (Jr., Foresthill, California) and Harlie Williams (Jr., Norwood, Colorado) led the game in rebounding. Each brought down six rebounds.

UNC's Kyleigh Hiser led all players in scoring with 21 points.

Western will continue the season on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Grand Canyon University. Thursday's game will be the final exhibition game of the season for the Mountaineers. Western will begin the regular season Friday, Nov. 27 against Dixie State in Grand Junction, Colorado.
