After four years swimming for the Mountaineers, Akemi King will continue her role as student assistant coach with the Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving team. The 2018-19 season marks King's second year on staff.
2016-17 (Senior): Swam in four events at the RMAC Championship scoring in each... Finished 6th place in the 200 yd Fly... 10th in the 1,650 yd Free... 11th in the 1,000 yd Free... and 13th in the 100 yd Fly
2015-16 (Junior): Swam strong at the conference meet as an individual and on relays … Highlighted the meet with an eighth place finish in the 200 fly … Also had a 12th place finished in the 1,000 free and a 15th place finish in the 1,650 … Was a part of the 10thplace 400 medley relay and the 12th place 800 free relay … Holds school records in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
2014-15 (Sophomore): Placed ninth in the 200 fly and 15th in the 400 IM at the conference meet … reset her own records in the 100 and 200 fly as well as the 400 IM … Also was a part of a school record breaking 400 medley relay team … Named to the RMAC All-Academic team.
2013-14 (Freshman): Finished second at the conference meet in the 1000 free … Broke school records in the 1000 free, 200 fly, 100 fly and the 400 IM … Also set a pool record in the 200 fly.
High School: A four year state qualifier for Waiakea High … Was the BIIF Champion in the 100 fly her sophomore season … Named a captain for the swim and water polo teams.
