Tyler Pennel led the Western State College men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships last Saturday. Pennel finish fourth overall with 31 minutes, 12 seconds in the 10-kilometer event.

All five scoring runners for Western State earned all-region honors. The Mountaineers advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships Nov. 21 in Evansville, Ind.
