Pierce enters the Hall as one of the greatest basketball players ever to play in Wright Gym. Pierce attended Western State from 1992-96 and made the RMAC All-Conference team three times, including an All-Region selection following his senior campaign. As a freshman and sophomore, Pierce played for current Western State President Jay Helman. During his freshman campaign, Pierce was a valuable member of the Mountaineer squad that went 25-5 overall, won the RMAC and went 1-1 in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament. With the departure of six seniors from that 1992-93 team, Pierce was the star of the program starting as a sophomore. The result was a career full of Western State records. Pierce is currently in the Top Four in 14 individual categories. He ranks first in points in a season (721), games (114), 3-pointers made in a career (307) and points in an overtime game (36). He also ranks second in career points (1,702) and career steals (132).
