Johnson attended Western State from 1989-94 and was a star on both the football and track and field teams. A walk-on from Aurora, Colo., Johnson was a three-time All-RMAC selection and one-time All-American in football and a three-time RMAC Champion and two-time All-American in track and field. He also held the 400 meters record for four years. He still holds school records in football for yards in a game (270), catches in a season (65), yards in a season (1,141), yards per game (103.9), yards per catch (32.5), career receptions (163), career yards (3,715) and career touchdowns (35).
