Sue King Keirnes helped WSC women's athletics get off the ground in the early 1970s as a player on the basketball, volleyball and softball teams. In 1973, Keirnes was the Mountaineer softball team's MVP. She was captain of both the basketball and softball teams. Keirnes earned her bachelor's degree from WSC in 1974. When her college career ended, she moved on and has worked in fields from teaching to daycare to accounting.
